The CinemaCon Film Festival, along with Coca-Cola and Regal College Film Competition, celebrated its annual, “Big Screen Achievement Awards.” The brilliant and well-deserving winners were recognized and presented with their honored statues on March 30th, 2017 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas… “The Rising Star of the Year Award” was presented to Actress, Singer, Dancer and Songwriter… Isabela Moner. She stars in the upcoming film, "Transformers: The Last Knight" being released by Paramount Pictures nationwide on June 23, 2017. This vivacious actor in best known for her starring role in Nickelodeon’s “100 Things To Do Before High School.” Isbela, the actress, dancer, singer, songwriter, does it all. You go girl!

Eugenio Derbez was awarded the “International Achievement in Comedy Award,” for his creative and influential work in Latin America and in the U.S. as well for it’s Spanish speaking audiences. His upcoming film being released by Pantelion Films and Lionsgate, "How To Be A Latin Lover" will open on April 28, 2017 with the multi talented and gorgeous actress Salma Hayek as his co-star. Eugenio is one of the most influential creative forces in Latin America and with his upcoming film, he will no doubt get well deserved international attention and recognition. From his beginnings in the theater he has branched out to television, and became a writer, director and producer. He brings new meaning to the word versatile.

Brenton Thwaites received the CinemaCon “Breakthrough Performer of the Year award” and is sure to make a stellar impression in the upcoming role of Henry in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” released by Walt Disney Pictures on May 26, 2017. Brenton’s other big screen achievements include "Oculus," "The Giver," and "Maleficient!" Talk about a hunk, Brenton began his acting career in Australian television. As it is impossible to take ones eyes off of him for he lights up the screen with his irresistible charm, he naturally segued into film.

The CinemaCon “Comedy Star of the Year Award” was presented to Kumail Nanjiani, the Pakistan-born hysterical comedian. His real-life wife, screenwriter Emily V. Gordon, wrote the hit movie, "The Big Sick," presented at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It’s a captivating look at their actual off-screen courtship. Amazon Studios and Lionsgate will release this movie on June 23, 2017. Nanijiani's is also known for his comedic endeavors in the films, "The Five-Year Engagement," "Sex Tape," "Hot Tub Time Machine 2," "Hello, My Name is Doris," "Mike Dave Need Wedding Dates," "Central Intelligence," as well as many television shows. Kumail is a critically acclaimed actor, writer, executive producer, and comedian.

John Cena was awarded the CinemaCon “Action Star of the Year Award.” Amazon Studios and Roadside Attractions will be releasing Cena's next film, the psychological war thriller, directed by Doug Liman "The Wall," on May 12, 2017. This global superstar, entertainer, and athlete is also recognized as a true philanthropist, who devotes his time to charities such as Make-A-Wish and Susan G. Korean. This actor, producer, host, entrepreneur, and WWE 16-time world champion superstar is also known for his roles in “Trainwreck,” “Daddy’s Home,” and “The Pact.” What a guy!

The CinemaCon “Distinguished Decade of Achievement in Film” award was presented to Naomi Watts, the two-time Academy Award nominee. "The Book of Henry, "Watts’s, most recent film, will be released on June 16, 2017, by Focus Features. This exciting, suspense thriller will surely keep you on the end of your seat. Born in England, and grew up in Australia this marvelous actress has been wowing audiences by her poignant and powerful performances for years. Look for her in the upcoming films, “3 Generations,” “Chuck,” “Twin Peaks,” and in the Netflix series, “The Glass Castle.” She is already a legend!

Salma Hayek was presented the CinemaCon “Vanguard Award.” Quoting Mitch Neuhauser, CinemaCon's Managing Director commented, “Hayek has a commanding presence on scene and off. She has proven herself to be one of he most prolific actresses of our time. From her stunning turn as Frida in the film of the same name, to her hilarious roles in films such as 'Grown-Ups," Hayek has not only entertained audiences around the world with her vast array of roles, but she has devoted herself to causes with a passion unlike no other. We could not be more honored to have presented Hayek with this year's "CinemaCon Vanguard Award." Upcoming movies include, Pantelio Films, "How to Be A Latin Lover," coming out on April 28, 2017, and Lionsgate’s, "The Hitman's Bodyguard," releasing on August 18, 2017. Her commanding presence onscreen and off has proven herself to be on of the most prolific actresses of our time. The CinemaCon “Producer of the Year Award” was presented to Chris Meledandri of Illumination. His animated masterpieces include, "Despicable Me," "Ice Age," as well as the animated, “Dr. Seuss,” franchises. Illumination was recently named one of the world's Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. When asked what’s the secret to his success, Meledandri responded with “To think outside of the box and look to do what has never been done before." Chris and his team have brought to life some of the most creative and whimsical films for moviegoers of all ages.

“Male Star Of Tomorrow” award was presented to the very hot actor Ansel Elgort. His career looks very bright indeed! Ansel’s burgeoning music career recently released the hit song “thief!” He has already appeared on the big screen in his breakout hit, “The Fault In Our Stars,” and in the “Divergent” series. “Female Star Of Tomorrow” was totally deserved and given to the exotic and talented Sofia Boutella! She is an amazingly skilled and methodical actress who has displayed remarkable talents in dance as well as acting. The captivating young actress with her magnetic strength and charisma shows her diversification in the film, “The Mummy,” “The Atomic Blonde,” “Star Trek Beyond” and “The Kingsman!” This Algerian born actress who was raised in France, is assuredly one to keep a watchful eye on!

Versatile actor, Charlie Hunnam was presented the CinemaCon “Male Star of the Year Award.” Hunnam will be seen in "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword," being released by Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures on May 12, 2017. This masterpiece film was directed by Guy Ritchie, (Madonna’s Ex, FYI) and is sure to leave you wanting more. Hunnam costars with Jude Law in the film. Charlie has captured the attention of fans and audiences around the globe with his phenomenal performances. Films such as “Cold Mountain,” “Crimson Peak,” and “Children Of Men.” He has also written screenplays called “VLAD,” and “American Druglord” so let’s look for that success in his future.

Jessica Chastain was presented the CinemaCon “Female Star of the Year Award.” Her film, "The ZooKeeper's Wife" was released by Focus Films on March 31. Her brilliant performance in this film is Oscar worthy and one not to be missed. STX Entertainment will be releasing her upcoming film "Molly's Game," later in the year. Chastain has kept us spellbound with her incredible and powerful performances in other films such as, "Tree of Life," "The Help," "Zero Dark Thirty," "MAMA," "Interstellar," and "The Martian." Look for her in the upcoming films, “Woman Walks Ahead,” and “The Death and Life of John F. Donavan!” Jessica has also started her own production company called, “Freckle Films!” What an innovative amazing women!
